Since growing up in a suburb of Rochester, N.Y. called Webster, radio is about all I've ever wanted to do. After graduating from Thomas High School in 1978, I migrated south to Florida where I earned a bachelor’s in communications, majoring in radio-television, from the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 1982.

It was there that I got my first taste of radio as program director and station manager of the student-run campus radio station. Plus I announced all types of sporting events including UCF's first ever season of football my sophomore year. I also worked part time at commercial radio stations in Orlando as well as in UCF's sports information office.

My original goal was to be a sports play-by-play broadcaster. But after graduating and working in markets such as Rochester, Orlando and Lynchburg, Va., I began concentrating on the programming side of the business. To gain experience I moved to Kansas where I programmed stations in two small markets, Dodge City and Salina,
for a combined 12 years. After that I spent six years programming a classic hits
station in Findlay, Ohio, home of the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger. I was hired by WYCR-FM in December of 2004 to help launch and program The Peak's classic hits format.

I met my wife Nancy, a Kansas native, while working in Dodge City. We have been married for 20 years. She works for an attorney in downtown York. Our two sons, Zack and Nathan, were both born in Kansas. We also have an adorable lab mix named Mandy who is nearly 7 years old. Our beloved cat Peabo passed away in the summer of 2007 at the age of 19!

Since sports broadcasting was my ambition growing up, attending various professional and collegiate sporting events is probably my only hobby at this time in my life. I try to attend the NCAA men's basketball tournament in March every year at a different location. I am a season ticket holder for UCF football and travel to Orlando for a few games each fall and follow the team on the road when I can. I love going to baseball spring training in Florida.

Beyond watching sports in person or on TV, I also enjoy movies, eating out, traveling and taking walks with my wife.
